"We develop screw conveyors, bulk truck fillers, and screw heat exchangers for the transport of various bulk goods," continues Eric. "We deliver worldwide, mainly to the food industry, chemicals, and recycling sectors. And everything we make is fully customized to the customer's specifications.
We handle the welding ourselves, but the turning and milling parts are largely outsourced. These are not standard parts that you can just pick off a shelf, but unique, custom-made components that are either a strict requirement or crucial for the operation of our conveyors. Better Than Expected
"Take, for example, a specific type of cleaning hatch. We install it in a conical (cone-shaped) sidewall of a vertical dosing screw, only after the casing has been welded – so it requires a smart solution. Smart-M actively collaborated on this and delivered perfectly fitting parts – exactly to specification.
Another example: Previously, we made our largest drive and end shafts from solid (bar) material – which a) was extremely costly, and b) the core was less strong. On the advice of Smart-M, we switched to shrink fits – something we had never heard of before. They brought exactly the right expertise, resulting in a better outcome."

"Our field also requires one-off production – and as a CNC partner, you need to be able to handle that," emphasizes Eric. "Smart-M does that excellently.
